
Counter-Tenor Russell Harcourt will be in Noosa for one concert only on July 24 at the home of Louise and Ross Taylor in Noosa Heads.
Russell is the owner of one of the sweetest voices heard in Australia for a long time. He ‘brought the house down’ when he won the Dame Joan Sutherland Award and People’s Choice Mayoral Award in 2008. He is in his first year of study at The Royal Academy of Music in London, and the recipient of many awards including The Australia Council, The Ian Potter Cultural Trust and Josephine Baker Award.
Some of his achievements over the past year have included:
• Finalist in The Australian Music Foundation Awards at Wigmore Hall, London
• Finalist in the Stuart Burrows International Voice Award, Carmarthen, Wales
• Operatic Tableaux with Royal Academy Opera including the title role in a scene from Rinaldo, directed by John Ramster
• Concert performance of Arasse in Hasse’s opera Siroe at the Savile Club, Mayfair, London
• Masterclass and concert performance with Sally Burgess and Anthony Legge, London
• Opera from the Outback, British Red Cross Bushfire Appeal Charity Concert, London
• Operatic Tableaux with Royal Academy Opera including a scene from Jonathan Dove’s Flight (Refugee), directed by John Copley
• Operatic Tableaux with Royal Academy Opera including scenes from Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice (Orfeo) and Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea (Nerone), directed by David Edwards
• Performance of Athalia by G. F. Handel as a member of the Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme, Aldeburgh Festival, Suffolk
